Entitlement-Oriented These companies promote a caring, protective feeling and want
employees to feel they are part of the family. Sometimes called a fairness orientation, or
emphasis on people, these companies place a high value on how their decisions affect
the people in their organizations. For these companies, it is important to treat their
employees with respect and dignity. These organizations feel that employees are entitled
to benefits such as health care, employee assistance, or disability insurance as a condition
of employment. They place less emphasis on individual contributions and more emphasis on
the success of the organization as a whole.
